College Planning Advice

Do you take individual clients?

Currently, Mick works only on a limited basis with individuals, select financial planners and institutions.  If your family, organization and/or financial planner are frustrated by the information and products available to you to address the high cost of college and the reality of paying for it, send us an email or give us a call.  Requests are answered in the order they are received and we accept clients based on compatibility.

The fee for an additional consultation, an assessment of your situation, a written actionable summary and a follow-up phone consultation is $350.

How can we learn values-based College Planning?

You can ask your school, church, employer or other organization to sponsor a seminar.

Why don't more planners address this topic?

  1. They don't want to.
    •
College planning has become commoditzed.  In other words every aspect of it is for sale.  Financial planners can't compete with slick marketing that is unregulated and one-size-fits-all solutions.
  2. They don't know how.
    • This is a complicated topic and many planners don't take the time to master it and don't have the time to incorporate it once they do.
  3. They can't.
    • Due to regulations unique to licensed securities representatives everything they do must be pre-approved by their supervisors and most lack the expertise, time and commitment to do it.  That's a whole other essay.

Those are the simple answers.  None are acceptable reasons. Find a planner that knows this topic and consider doing your investing with them. Or, contact us for a fee-based consulation.
